Eligibility tests
Every year, some 50 to 60 new members are admitted to the Young Ensemble. Eligibility tests are conducted to identify the most talented among the many candidates. Basic requirements include dance skills and physical fitness, as well as a talent for singing, acting and acrobatics.
Starting at age 7 or 8 (or from age 9 to 11), every child receives a basic 2-year education in classical dance, acting and jazz. Depending on the individual talents, this is followed by specialized training, for example in solo acting, singing, solo singing, acrobatics, hip hop or street dance. All new members are subject to a 3-month probation period.
For the theater education and the coordination of the educational program, there is an annual fee of €240 (€20 per month) and a one-time registration fee of €30.
Ensemble work
The ensemble work provides the children with a theater education all-year round. Training classes are twice a week.
Shows: Several times a week for 3 months during the winter season and at special events and shows, galas, films and TV shows.
Membership: Lasts for about 10 years (until age 16); afterwards, we offer counseling and can provide recommendations for professional training.
All members of the ensemble need to leave at age 16 and say goodbye to an intensive hobby and a wonderful pastime. During their years in the Young Ensemble and on our stage, many have discovered their passion for performing and the arts and perhaps even their future profession.
