SHOW:ME – Glamour is back!
We breathe, of course, to live. But the greatest moments are those in which we hold our breath. On the quest for just these moments, SHOW:ME homes in on one particularly fascinating notion: what if show icons from the past like Busby Berkeley, Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. and Esther Williams hadn’t had their heyday in the past century, but here and now? What would a modern-day show by the greatest revue creators of the 1920s to the 1950s look like? And not each individually, but all three geniuses together? A dream team in the truest sense.
The product of this dream line-up will be the event of 2012.
Glamour is back. More dazzling than anything you have ever seen before. More brilliant, extravagant and flamboyant glamour. With the technical capabilities of our time, and modern music and dance. Sensational world-class artistry aesthetically interwoven with captivating formations of costumes and bodies. Magical, moving, memorable moments.
With SHOW:ME, the revue art form receives a new sound. The emphasis on re:VUE promises something novel to be seen with fresh eyes.
Our somewhat hazy memories of the last century in faded black and white suddenly slosh from the stage and across the theatre hall like a warm wave, as if you were experiencing a glittering fireworks display underwater in a coral reef in the Maldives with a glass of champagne in your hand. So does this sound pretty surreal? It certainly is.
With a budget of 9 million euros, SHOW:ME is a full million euros more expensive than the current show, Yma. And with over 100 artists – soloists, dancers, musicians and artists – it is also the largest ensuite show in the Western world.
From October, you can cruise amidst islands of pure bliss at the Friedrichstadt-Palast, plunge head first into a sea of beautiful art and bodies, and see with your own eyes how we conjure up majestic stage architecture from the depths. And regardless of how breathtaking it is, don’t forget to breathe.
Advance bookings can now be made. Our tip: almost every evening will be sold out from October until December, so the sooner you book, the greater the choice of seats you will have. And we have already sold and reserved 30,000 tickets.
