Martin Wingerath

Martin Wingerath was born in Baden-Baden in 1973. He had his first piano lesson when he was just five and, by the age of 14, was regularly playing the organ at church services. Upon completing his degree as an audio engineer, he worked freelance on film productions and for television channels (ZDF, SWR). In 2002, he founded music production company MusicalNet and the MusicalNet Studio Berlin recording studios with Koen Schoots. Together the pair produced countless successful CDs with musical stars of the likes of Thomas Borchert, Yngve Gasoy-Romdal and Pia Dauwes, even occupying the number one slot in the German music charts for several weeks with these.

In addition to the production of shows for Tui Cruises GmbH, Martin Wingerath also mixed the film music for film backer MFG Baden-Württemberg’s ‘Schönen Tag, Marie’. In 2008, he opened his own recording studio in Berlin-Pankow, and he has been a freelance composer, music producer and arranger for Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin ever since. His achievements include composition and arrangement of the music for WinterDreams at the Friedrichstadt-Palast, among other shows. His energetic compositions and arrangements can now also be heard in ‘Yma – Too beautiful to be true’.

Stage design Circus of Now, Berlin

Circus of Now, Berlin

The Circus of Now comprises a team of eight artists from the fields of film, animation, stage design, architecture, design and technology, who see themselves as their clients’ medium. Special systems and technologies developed over 18 years of international project work form the basis of their innovative style and characterise their individual approach to stage production. There are no ties to or influences from the outside; the group of artists feel committed solely to the self-discovery in their next project: intelligent, flexible, whimsical, authentic, exclusive – and always centred on the guest.

Since 2005, the Circus of Now has increasingly been working in international marketing, focusing on creating unusual and unique events for major corporations such as Volkswagen, Porsche, Miele, Samsung, Tchibo, Sony, and Bertelsmann. With representatives in Geneva, New York and Moscow, and projects in Shanghai, Saint Petersburg, San Francisco, Moscow and Tokyo, they not only enrich the individual cities, but also their own wealth of international experience.

Attention has now turned to theatre productions and architecture. Circus of Now’s stage design emphasises or blurs existing architectural and technical structures. Transformations are their aesthetic category. The on-stage presentation blends with its surrounds to create a truly three-dimensional event.

Manager and creator of Circus of Now, Aleksej Schön, grew up in Berlin and now lives in the city’s Prenzlauer Berg district where he works as a freelance artist. The Circus of Now’s innovative and unique concepts have already been conferred countless prizes and awards including the iF Communication Design Award, the World Media Festival Intermedia-Globe Gold Award and the New York Galaxy Award Gold Medal.
