Return or exchange of tickets
Tickets may not be returned after purchase. If a different revue or show is performed than the one announced at the time of purchasing the tickets, the latter may be returned before the day of the performance. Changes to the line-up are permitted and do not entitle customers to return tickets already purchased. No refund will be given for expired tickets. It is possible to exchange tickets as long as these were purchased directly from the Friedrichstadt-Palast. Tickets may be exchanged up to 5 calendar days before the show date. The original tickets must be returned and a fee of €5 paid per ticket. A maximum of 6 tickets may be exchanged. Tickets, vouchers and other products bought via the Friedrichstadt-Palast website may not be returned or exchanged. Special conditions may apply for products bought online. These conditions are indicated on the relevant online order page or in the relevant confirmation letter.
Dispatch of tickets / Picking up tickets
If desired, tickets that have been paid for may be dispatched by post. The dispatch fee is €3. An additional fee of €7 will be charged for registered delivery. The Friedrichstadt-Palast assumes no liability whatsoever for the timely delivery of tickets, vouchers and other products sent to the recipient by post or for loss or damage to the delivery.
Tickets that have been reserved but not paid for must be picked up from the box office within one week of booking. Should there be less than one week until the show booked, the tickets must be picked up at least 30 minutes before the start of the show after which time the reservation will be cancelled.
A €2 system fee is payable for each ticket. In addition, there is an advance booking fee of 15% of the ticket price (10% for tickets purchased online), and 10% of the ticket price for children’s shows. Tickets in price category 5 and tickets bought on the day of the show are not subject to an advance booking fee.
In the event that a customer loses their ticket, they may be issued a replacement ticket for a fee of €5 if they can provide proof of which ticket they purchased. The holder of the replacement ticket has precedence over the holder of the original ticket.
Vouchers, voucher expiry and credit
Vouchers expire when a show comes to an end or is removed from the programme, but latest two years after the voucher was issued. Vouchers can be used to purchase the number of tickets listed on the voucher and for the show listed on the voucher. Tickets are issued according to availability. The holder of a voucher has no legal claim to any particular show date or seats. The voucher is redeemed by presenting it at the Friedrichstadt-Palast box office. In principle, a voucher cannot be redeemed for shows other than the one listed on the voucher. All types of credit expire two years after the date of accrual.
The cloakrooms and foyers will normally be opened one hour before the start of the show. For safety reasons and out of consideration for the artists and other visitors, visitors can only be admitted to the theatre hall at a suitable moment and with no guarantee of seating in the reserved seat once a show has started.
Coats and suchlike may only be taken into the theatre hall if doing so will not disturb other guests. Upon payment of a fee, these items may be stored in the cloakroom during the performance. Adults: €1.50; children: €0.70; garment bag: €7.50 (bring your own).
Patrons may be refused entry to the premises if there is reason to believe that they will disturb the performance or bother other guests. Entry may also be refused to those who have repeatedly violated these General Terms and Conditions. Persons interfering with the sale of tickets or bothering guests can be removed from the premises. The offering of tickets for resale is not permitted in the ticket hall or elsewhere on the Friedrichstadt-Palast premises. Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire building. Instructions from staff members must be followed.
Fraud and deception
Should the Friedrichstadt-Palast establish that fraud, deception or attempted fraud or deception has occurred in connection with the purchase or redemption of vouchers, credit or tickets, the Friedrichstadt-Palast is not required to redeem the vouchers, credits or tickets in question.
Should a guest be prevented from attending a show for reasons beyond the Friedrichstadt-Palast’s control (force majeure) or that cannot be foreseen or prevented by reasonable efforts and expenditure on the part of the Friedrichstadt-Palast, the Friedrichstadt-Palast is relieved of its obligation to provide services. Examples of force majeure include labour disputes and strikes (incl. by third party operators) as well as closures ordered by the authorities due to terror alerts, etc. This also applies in the event that a show is cancelled due to technical reasons that could not be foreseen, remedied by reasonable measures or prevented through precautions.
In such cases, the customer is not entitled to any claims for damages or any other claims against the Friedrichstadt-Palast.
