General Terms and Conditions of Reservation and Business
of Friedrichstadt-Palast Betriebsgesellschaft mbH

Discounts
The box office at Friedrichstadt-Palast will offer discounts upon presentation of proper identification. For discount tickets booked in the call center or online, the proper identification is required upon admission. If proper identification is not presented, the remaining balance of the full admission price must be paid. Wheelchair seats are located on the ground floor in price category 5. Recognized persons accompanying disabled persons or wheelchair users (category B in German ID card) are given free admission in price categories 1-5 and only pay a €2 system fee. These tickets for accompanying persons are issued according to availability. (If possible, with a seat in the same price category). This also applies for children’s shows. Retired persons receive a €5 discount on tickets in price categories 1-4. School children, students, persons in vocational training or military or alternative civilian service and children up to age 16 are given a 25% discount in price categories 1-4. Unemployed persons and welfare recipients receive a €10 discount in price categories 1-4. There are no discounts for special shows (e.g., premieres), shows with special pricing (e.g., New Year’s Eve), children’s shows and shows on the three days of Christmas (December 24, 25 and 26). Only one discount or rebate may be applied per ticket.
Group discounts
The following group discounts are available for advance booking: for children’s shows, 10% in price categories 1-4 for groups of more than 19 persons paying full price.
Discounts for school groups are available upon inquiry (fixed price plus system fee). 10% for groups of more than 9 persons paying full price in price categories 1-4. 15% for groups of more than 14 persons paying full price in price categories 1-4. There are no discounts for VIP and premium seats, tickets in price category 5, tickets for special shows (e.g., premieres), shows with special pricing (e.g., New Year’s Eve) and shows on the three days of Christmas (December 24, 25 and 26).
Commissions
Retailers of tickets for Friedrichstadt-Palast are paid commission for tickets for VIP and premium seats and for seats in price categories 1 to 4 only in accordance with contractual arrangements. Discounts, commissions and rebates do not apply.
Return or exchange of tickets
Tickets may not be returned after purchase. If a different revue or show is performed than that announced at the time of purchasing the tickets, these tickets may be returned before the day of the performance. Changes in line-up are possible and do not give entitlement to return tickets that have already been purchased. No refund will be given for unused tickets.It is possible to exchange tickets as long as the tickets have been bought directly from Friedrichstadt-Palast. Tickets may be exchanged at least 5 calendar days before the show date. The original tickets must be given up and a fee of 5 EUR per ticket paid. A maximum of 6 tickets may be exchanged. Tickets, vouchers and other products bought via the Friedrichstadt-Palast website may not be returned or exchanged. Special conditions may apply for products bought via the Internet. These conditions are shown on the relevant online ordering page or in the relevant confirmation letter.
Dispatch of tickets / Picking up tickets
Tickets that have been paid for may be sent by post if desired. The dispatch fee is 3 EUR. An additional fee of 7 EUR will be charged for registered letters. The Friedrichstadt-Palast undertakes no liability for the delivery of tickets, vouchers and other products sent by post to the recipient in good time or for loss or damage to the delivery.
Tickets that have been reserved but not paid for must be picked up from the ticket kiosk within one week after booking. If the time until the booked show is less than one week, the tickets must be picked up at least 30 minutes before the start of the show. After this the reservation will be cancelled.
Ticket fees
There is a €2 system fee for each ticket. Additionally, there is an advance booking fee of 15% of the ticket price, and 5% of the ticket price for children’s shows. Tickets in price category 5 and tickets bought on the day of the show are not subject to an advance booking fee.
A 10% advance booking fee applies to tickets purchased online.
Lost tickets
In the event of a lost ticket, the customer may be issued a replacement ticket for a fee of €5 if the customer can provide proof of which ticket she or he bought. The holder of an original ticket has preference over the holder of a replacement ticket.
Vouchers, expired vouchers and credits
Vouchers expire when a show ends or is removed from the program, but at the latest two years after the voucher was issued. Vouchers can be used to purchase the number of tickets listed on the voucher and for the show listed on the voucher. Tickets are issued based on availability. The holder of a voucher is not entitled to any preferential rights with respect to specific dates or seats. The voucher is redeemed by presenting the voucher at the theater box office at Friedrichstadt-Palast. In principle, a voucher cannot be redeemed for any shows other than the one listed on the voucher. Credits of all types expire two years after the origination date.
Entry
The cloakrooms and foyers will normally be opened one hour before the start of the show. For safety reasons and out of consideration for the artists and other visitors, visitors can only be allowed into the auditorium once a show has started at a suitable moment and with no guarantee of seating in the reserved seat.
Cloakroom
Coats etc. may be taken into the auditorium only if they do not disturb other visitors. Coats, etc. may be deposited in the cloakroom during the performance for a fee. Fees: adults: €1.50; children: €0.70; garment bag: €7.50 (bring your own).
House rules
Patrons may be refused entry to the premises if there is reason to believe that they will disturb the performance or bother the other spectators. Entry may also be refused to patrons who have repeatedly violated these General Terms and Conditions. Persons interfering with the sale of tickets or bothering patrons can be removed from the premises. It is not permitted to offer tickets for resale in the ticket hall or elsewhere on the premises of Friedrichstadt-Palast. Smoking is prohibited in the entire building. The instructions of staff members must be followed.
Fraud and deception
If Friedrichstadt-Palast finds that fraud, deception or attempted fraud or deception is involved in connection with purchasing or redeeming vouchers, credits or tickets, Friedrichstadt-Palast is not required to redeem the affected vouchers, credits or tickets.
Force majeur
If the customer is prevented from attending a show for reasons that Friedrichstadt-Palast is not responsible for (“force majeur”) or that cannot be foreseen or that cannot be prevented by reasonable efforts and expenditures on the part of Friedrichstadt-Palast, Friedrichstadt-Palast is relieved of its obligation to provide service. By way of example “force majeur” includes labor disputes and strikes, also of third party operators, as well as official orders such as closures due to terror warnings, etc. This regulation also applies in the event that a show is canceled due to technical reasons that could not have been foreseen and that could not have been remedied by reasonable measures or that could not have been prevented through precautions.
In this case, the customer is not entitled to any claims for damages or any other claims against Friedrichstadt-Palast.
Entry into force
These General Terms and Conditions enter into force on April 1, 2011. Simultaneously, the previous General Terms and Conditions of Friedrichstadt-Palast shall cease to have effect.
The right to make amendments is reserved.
